Strawberry
In the ward garden, one
strawberry
Red,perfect; picked
By a woman life blew
asunder,
The spoils of the finder,
here
Quartered between pilgrims
United on a strange
journey,
A kind act proving
Life is never fully
broken,
Sending we who go
Back out into sunlight
thinking
Ourselves whole; away empty

'God could've created a better berry than the strawberry. But he didn't.' Samuel Pepys (paraphrased).
Great piece. Thank you for it.
