I - WAS - NOT

I did never give in.
Never. I soldiered on, I stayed.
They bullied me, excluded me.
They all led me to think I was worthless.
I was
Not
Worthless
They did not talk to me
Or responded
Led me to feel invisible
Unimportant
Dumb
I was
Not
Unimportant
Invisible
Dumb
They looked at my body
A little smile
That smile
Saying it all,
Its ugly
I was
Not
Ugly
They lured me
To believe they
Where friends
They raped me
Thought me a
Lesson of not trusting
Anyone
I did
Not
Stay on that
Lesson
I was left
All alone
Friendless
An insignificant
Part of a family
From the other
End
Of the tunnel
I have emerged
This me
Feel so light
The scars from the
Journey
Are medals
Reminding me of
My strength
And courage
And belief
Not one moment
Did I contemplate ending it all
Not one moment
Did I doubt,
That I would
Get through
The other end
I was given a life
This life
Why should I not
Give it my best?

This is a poem of great depth
This is a poem of great depth and courage. It's really inspiring.
Only one side point: is it supposed to be "taught me the lesson of not trusting anyone"?
