...It's nice 
to see a friendly face,
a genuine smile
made just for you.
Creases round the eyes 
that appear when you do,
a private twinkle in the eye
that says
the pleasure is all theirs...
 
It's nice...
 
To have someone vaguely 
on your side,
to hear a voice say
"things will be ok",
no strings attached, 
no expectations
put upon you.
Just so you know, I appreciate
that friendly smile,
a smile I return for you.

I like the way you describe the smile – genuine, creases round the eyes, with a private twinkle in the eye – that describes well the sharing of warmth, acceptance, sense of love, that is so missed if it's just a facial smile, feelings hidden. Rhiannon

Thanks Rhiannon. It's like sunshine breaking through the gloomy dark clouds when you see such warm feeling isn't it. I think lots of people have forgotten how to smile these days.
