We

We pale-skinned interlopers do not thrive in southern, sultry climes.
The lotus tastes sickly and we long for the bitter fruit of winter rain.
None understand us: they consider us lilies, or worse.
We do not share their genetic clock,
we displace their tick with our Britannic tock.
We thin-lipped immigrants do not lie in darkened, dingy rooms.
The sunlight warms thickly and we ooze through the sweaty heat of summers long.
None understand us: they consider us madmen, or worse.
We do not share their latino ways,
we displace their nights for our be-sozzled days.
We bell-shaped parasites do not laugh at paper, paltry games.
The anger boils quickly and we curse all the flinty poise of drudging clerks.
None understand us: they consider us burdens, or worse.
We do not love their gitano wiles,
we displace their invention with our moronic smiles.
We soft-brained expatriates do not leave in addled, angry droves.
The older move slowly and we stay for all the safely known of boring lives.
None understand us: they consider us foreign, or worse.
We do not love their spontaneous glee
we displace their gaiety with our most minor key.

You presumable feel gloomy at
You presumable feel gloomy at the difficulties of intermingling.
It is easy to scorn the difference that culture and country makes on our assumptions, isn't it, and realise the efforts needed to understand those who grew up under different influences, or to want to be understood, and to keep in our different ways and very separate. I rather liked 'we displace their tick with our Britannic tock'
I found 'We do not love their spontaneous glee
we displace their gaiety with our most minor key.' interesting because I found my English inlaws much more given to 'guffaw' type laughter, than my heritage of 'wry grinning', and maybe more cautious humour. And again the Welsh are accused of mournful hymnology as their tunes seem minor, but actually (I have forgotten the musical term) the minor music has traces of major embeded often and seems to portray joy mixed with repentant sorrow, a thoughtful, surprised happiness??! Anyway, shows up some of the differences background makes that can puzzle!

Not offended at all. Was I meant to be? Neednt answer that! I know automatic translations of Welsh can be very odd. Rhiannon
