Place To Place

It started when I was at school
And those Cline Road boys would treat you cruel
I was beat and fell out of the race
My mind started shifting round from place to place
It got me so I couldn't get me out of bed
Used to lay there like I was dead
Mum would cry and Dad would yell tilll he was red in the face
And they started shifting me from place to place
A halfway house isn't half a home
How can you live with other people and feel so alone?
Feels like I'm going nowhere at quite a pace
They just shift you round from place to place
Dose you up with Olanzapine
Never mind where your're going don't know where you've been
You can see it in the lines written on my face
They just shift you round from place to place
There is no care in no community
People they just stare at me
The doctors say, "What a fascinating case."
Amd then just shift you round from place to place
I don't believe in heavens above
I believe in here and now and love
Something that cannot be replaced
Don't shift us round from place to place
A halfway house isn't half a home
How can you live with other people and feel so alone?
Feels like I'm going nowhere at quite a pace
They just shift you round from place to place...
