CHANGE IN THE WEATHER

we miss those days of summer
and its warm and friendly breeze
the branches lost their blossoms
and the leaves have left the trees
.
those lofty expectations
crash and burn so far below
the sky once full of rainbows
is now filled with flakes of snow
.
you shouldn't have to think much
when it comes to acts of love
we form a piece of heaven
then the roof falls from above
.
those whims once free and easy
make you stop and wrack your brain
the sky once filled with lightning
is now blinded by the rain
.
a noisy celebration
when the love is rich and deep
the parade now only litter
that nobody cares to sweep
.
the future seemed so certain
but our hopes become unpinned
the sky once filled with thunder
is bereft of any wind
