Man of Iron

From out
of the earth
was forged
a blade
like no other,
born of many forms: steeped in mystery,
fusing metal to metal;
molten energy
with velocity
of heat –
a furnace
to be
reckoned
with,
for a brief
moment
I watched
as a
sword
was born.
Iron Man's appearance congenial, but deep inside with sinewy brawn,
lies an energetic; diligent force, he's ready for action – blood boiling
with passion, like red hot embers; heat increases running through
veins – profoundly
admired; linked
with his people
to defend,
shielding
from
danger
should
an
enemy
approach,
heavy
sound
of
impact,
as
pound
on
pound
forms
shape:
powerful
strength
needed;
each
strike
rouses
next,
his
burly
muscles
hunker
down,
before
Sleep
under
harvest

you wield the sword of truth
you wield the sword of truth with all your might, but rignt now I'm in flight, so I'll just say I enjoyed, but then again I need to think of a word that starts like a mighty sword and ends in pen.

intricate chemistry in
intricate chemistry in producing a fine sword....
the product of many minds... for the death of many more...
Nice poem... and to the point...

Hi, Jenny
Hi, Jenny
This made me think of the forging of the sword Excalibur. All the strength of that burly male is in there and the pattern of words is fantastic. In the forging of a sword is the making of a clever poem!
Best Wishes,
HW

Reminds me of watching
Reminds me of watching blacksmiths at work, working with the heat and strength. And the willingness to defend neighbours and loved ones from attack.
Reminded me also of a Bible verse that admiration should be even greater for the strength needed for patience, and self-control over provoked temper! Rhiannon

This is such a fabulous poem
This is such a fabulous poem Jenny. A treat for the senses. Not only in its words but in its anvil-like layout. Very clever, all round, and I thoroughly enjoed reading it.
Have a good week. We have a chilly wind blowing here, but hopefully it will dry my washing
