The Begwns*

High slopes of fresh green bracken,
sheep and wind;
millenium roundabout – dry stone circle
enclosing trees and little sunken stone curved seat,
panoramic circular view
including the dramatic northern scarps
of the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons:
double peak of Pen-y-Fan clear,
storm sweeps over it, obscuring,
veil thins, peaks emerge;
we wander down and around the lake;
first drops of rain as we get back to the car.

Such a powerful, guttural,
Such a powerful, guttural, earthy sound to this poem. Beautiful words and harsh sounds capture the wild wonderfully well.

Hi Rhiannon
I remember being in that part of Wales when visiting my son was at University. You describe it so well.

Hi Rhiannon,
Hi Rhiannon,
you described in your poem the wildness of this panoramic scene. Very much enjoyed reading.
Jenny.
