ever since i was an infant
i sought music as a friend
oasis from the frantic world
a place where i'd transcend
.
i hope this lasts forever
but if forced to make a choice
i'd rather not hear music
then the sound of your sweet voice
.
i've always sought percussion
little drum beats in my head
to drive me ever onward
wondrous places, i've been led
.
i hope that beat's eternal
but if judged that we should part
i'd rather lose percussion
than the beating of your heart
.
but you and i make music
as we march along in sync
we share a composition
in the ways we feel and think
.
our lives became a love song
with percussion in our hearts
a glorious duet
no longer singing separate parts
.
