I Can See Around Corners

You. You. And You. You.
What do you think makes us tick?
What trick?
What magic makes us turn?
Yearn.
What fills us up, what hollows us out?
Gives life.
Gives doubt.
Which thought rules them all?
#
You. Yes, you. Far right wall.
You think we strive for brightness,
Shiny things, twinkling rings.
You cast your eyes at sunshine,
Skip between the puddles;
Dodge pooling, prowling shadows.
You wear your rings on all your fingers.
Tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick;
It's all about the clock.
#
Keys, left in the lock.
You. There, with the glasses, you with the book.
You crawl towards what's warm,
Not torn.
It's her heart you long to win.
Step out into the noonday dark,
These sludge-grey days;
These wounded hallways.
She's only a word, or wink, away,
But you don't know where to begin.
#
Wait in impatient anticipation of sin
You. Over there by the window. Where the sun comes in.
Surf the bubbling magma wave.
You think life comes in heartbeats;
Adrenalin rushes; skipped breaths.
The wind forever in you hair.
You dare.
Despair.
Walk that line you'll never see.
#
Me?
Well, I can see around corners.
I hear your everyday silence.
All of you.
Avaricious eyes.
Watching the world go by and by.
You try.
Deny.
All the twinkling lights go out at once.
And you , you see her face at night,
Pretend to feel her hair brush the insides of your wrist.
Resist.
Wake up to grey-cotton clouds, a half empty bed.
And you. The party lasts forever;
Becomes never,
The dark becomes the light.
You too see a face each night.

All I'm going to say about
All I'm going to say about this is it hit me right in the gut, just the way a strong poem should. What else needs to be said?
