Nature's Gifts
of nuts a plenty,
step by step
with grunt and squeal,
little snouts
snatch up a banquet
feast this pannage season
till bellies swell,
Babbling Brook
by cautious backwoods
filled with underlying bugs,
charm of Lords and Ladies
mystique,
false clues clear!
Beauty isn't what it
first appears!
But chill when
snowflakes start to fall;
I'll embrace and grapple
each dancing flutter,
kissing cheeks as they pass by,
reminding me that like many problems
on impact they
disperse and die.
I found a feather today,
white as
driven snow,
texture inter-weaved
with purity,
reminding me
Winter Angel
rebuilds my weary soul.

Though we long for Spring, I
Though we long for Spring, I suppose winter quiet is restful to us, and the anticipation of spring around the corner, a blessing.
I enjoyed the picture of the piglets. Rhiannon

Some nice imagery here, Jenny
Some nice imagery here, Jenny. I liked your Winter Angel where winter is seen as a time to sleep and then wake refreshed in the spring.

Pretty piece, I too enjoyed
Pretty piece, I too enjoyed the imagery - I liked most the final stanza, the opening line 'I found a feather today', I like the immediacy and the sudden focus on that precise moment, effective in bringing about the resulting uplift at the end

Hi Jenny
Hi Jenny
Autumn is such a lovely time with the nuts and dropped leaves and all. You capture some of the magic here.
