A Universe between Twilights

In sweeps the light:
Now, resting momentarily
On your dipped shoulder;
Decanting through glass
Its butterscotch beams
Sliding over the base of your
Careless chin
Cascading down to kiss the
Folds in your cardigan;
Cerulean and then sangria,
An infinite finger stretching out
Across you to caress
My arm, transforming to emerald pine
As it slides along my pale patterned shirt
Enjoining us
Either end of our rainbow
This languid peaceful evening,
As it did once when our skins were smoother
And as unblemished as the sunrays
That swathe us in kind silent blankets.
Yes I remember that light
How few are they now
That rest as we rest
Even our own
Even our own
