Old crow
Sits on a fence
It has no opinion
Waiting for a friend
Who’s flying late
Probably the fog
The bark of a dog
Has no fear
When you have wings
Old crow
Sits on a fence
It has no opinion
Though it is well read
As many fledglings
Would tell you
If you spoke their tongue
Or knew the songs
They sung
Old crow
Sits on a fence
It has no opinion
Life is easier
When you keep things
Under your breast
Old crow
Leaves its wisdom
For others in the nest

Really enjoyed this. Deceptively simple and calm.
