A grain of sand - pearl or glass

A grain of sand – pearl or glass
You have a gift,
Use it for good.
As you write of love,
Let it not be
Merely to hypnotise.
Let it be
Not to misguide
Or swindle,
Hoodwink or mislead;
Entrap, ensnare or beguile.
Let it not be for the vile
For deception,
To seduce, manipulate
Or hoax.
Let the words you scribe,
The love you describe,
The pearled layers of incredible possibility
In your stanzas of poetry,
Be of a love grounded,
Planted, rooted and held
In what is responsible
What is honest
What is kind
And that which holds harmony
Between soul, body and mind.
She does not deserve
To be baited, strung then cut off.
She does not deserve
Words crafted
From a selfish heart.
All of her emotions,
And her being,
That your words seductively
Enfold as a grain of sand,
Should be nourished into a pearl
And not glass to shatter.
Your power
With your words
So dangerous
If used to deceive
In malicious purpose.
If your intent is not true,
Step back with your words
And your poetical tune.
Leave her be;
For a man without sculpted poetry;
For a man with
Every intent
Of seeing her nurtured
Into the jewel she is.

words can fracture like glass
words can fracture like glass and blow up in our face, but I guess they can become, through time, the jewels that we need.

Women can have oily, trapping
Women can have oily, trapping words too. Her speech is smoother than oil, but in the end she is bitter as gall, sharp as a double-edged sword. (Proverbs 5:3,4) There the flattery entraps and damages like a sword. But in Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. (Proverbs 12:18) we seem to have more direct sharpness of words compared to the soothing, edifying, maturing words you encourage.

This is a poem that holds a story in a good way, Shannan. Who is she, and who is the smart but devious poet? Heartfelt and Intriguing.

Pearls of wisdom in your poem
Pearls of wisdom in your poem Shannan. We can share our words with the world, but in the end we have to be true to ourselves.
Thank you for sharing yours.
