The many snaky hydra heads
had evil stench and bite;
when necks were slashed, more heads re-grew
to rape, enslave and fight;
and only when no further flow
of love of violence
from way inside, as malice quenched,
dried up by kindness, sense,
could heads not multiply, re-grow –
the terror monster’s raids would cease,
no more a threat to global peace.

Wonderful imagery and very apt for our times. It's interesting how those ancient tales adapt so easily to our modern dilemmas. Great poem.
