Lay Down

Lay down for a dedicated moment,
So that grief may sit by still waters,
Tracing stained hands over the shores edge,
Burying his face between anguished arms,
Holding out my outstretched eyes on emptiness.
Lay here for a second wind,
To catch a breath lost to loss,
Clutching faint images of dusted glass,
Reflecting back tormenting sorrows,
Faces that smile into scented metaphor.
Lay there for awhile,
Drink of the waters endless tears,
Perhaps should you stay,
If I grasp the will to leave,
You can have the depressing pain,
That drowns my encompassed relief.
