“For God's sake look after our people.” Robert Falcon Scott 1912, Antarctica.
"We came to fight, not to surrender." Lawrence 'Titus' Oates 1902, South Africa.
"I am just going outside and may be some time." Lawrence ‘Titus’ Oates 1902, Antarctica.
It is so white, a blue-ish desert;
home of the burning cold.
Inside the canvas
it is merely freezing
the marrow until
our bones split.
I will not end as Evans did,
as a glacial blue
waterfall's footnote.
Did we come so far
to falter on
this wasting land?
It is time, I will take a mad march
into the cerulean blue.
Outside the canvas
I am merely freezing
my sacrifice
into history.
