we cannot stop the wind, my love
the violent gusts will blow
so we must learn to bend a bit
as not to be laid low
.
the storm won't last forever
it will lose its strength and slow
we cannot stop the wind, my love
yet know that it will go
.
we cannot stop the rain, my love
the tears fall from the sky
important that we let them pour
for this will pacify
.
bright rainbows will be forming
all their colors passing by
we cannot stop the rain, my love
yet know that all will dry
.
we cannot stop the sun, my love
it rises every day
sometimes in robes of scarlet
other times, in veils of gray
.
the truth can be discovered
where the silver linings lay
we cannot stop the sun, my love
its shine is here to stay
