Ch-ch-ch-ch

(based on a comment by Michaela Strachan on Springwatch this year)
Chuffed at change in chiff-chaffs chicks,
naked, hatched from cracking clutch,
fed on grub and gnat and midge,
fluff up, feather up, fatten, fledge …
in the change of chill, fly down through France,
(survival gleans a better chance)
– will they all return back here next year,
another clutch of chiff-chaff chicks to hatch and rear?

Lovely use of the inspiration
Lovely use of the inspiration point! Like the way the rhythm changes when you introduce the flying to France, still maintaining the alliteration. Great fun to read.

Hi Rhiannon
Hi Rhiannon
So often you use onomotopia in your poems, and I like that. It brings the whole thing to life.
