Pillars of the Void

Hey you
Yeah you
Why are you looking at me like that?
Are you judging me?
What are you thinking?
Are you lost?
It doesn’t make any sense
I don’t get it
Get
It
Why are you so cold?
Why are you so somber?
Isn’t it bad enough that we are nothing more than momentary speckles in an endless universe?
Isn’t it bad enough that one day you are going to rot…literally?
Your brain will turn to mush and your insides will collapse
The fluids will leak out of your body as if to escape the prison vessels of the physical form
Your tongue will swell and turn purple…maybe green…or chartreuse
Maggots and worms will fill their stomachs with the flesh of your past
The sky will turn violet and burst into flames
The oceans will have no place in the pits of hell and reach their hands up to the sky
His majesty will no longer wander through the crowds of broken dreams and ice-cold hatred
She forgot how to use her tongue so instead she takes her teeth out of her mouth and draws an illusion into the void
Free of the void
Sick of the void
Live in the void
They didn’t think she was enough so they threw her in the crevices of their broken souls where no creature lurks
You know the way the trees whisper to each other on a cold autumns day?
Or the way the snow cries out when we crush their children are crushed under our soles
My death is not the answer nor is it the conclusion but perhaps the question
I can’t see my hands when the lions cover the sun and the moon with the shadow of their manes
I can’t feel your breath when you strangle yourself with the chords of undying pleasure
Do you know how much your heart will cost when there are no more tears to feed the sharks of wrath?
Well do you?
I didn’t think so
You have no control
So again I ask you; why are you looking at me like that?
