The Treetops

The treetops never wait for you
And fields are incorrigible when
You finally notice them
That’s when they call you ‘Featherbrain’
After when the heather’s gone
Where did that village go?
That village with the bar
And the church and another bar
With a man weeping at Animal Hospital
On a half-sleeping TV
The villages used to wait for us
But everything wants to get a move on nowadays
That’s how it is these days
Perhaps we will return to the past
In the future and find the treetops
Waiting once more as though
Never forgotten

Lovely, sean mcnulty. A
Lovely, sean mcnulty. A sense of everything slipping through your fingers. Hovers nicely between thoughts and things. I love how you zoom/focus in on the man for a moment then move straight on with your stream of thought. Felt like I was watching.
In the future return to the past. Pinpoint accurate observation of life.
