Gale tugging at hats, and whipping the waves,
white horses cresting the rolling swells,
rich golden gorse, and patches of bluebells,
ox-eyes* and sea campion in billows adrift,
and clouds of pink pompoms in pillows of thrift,
blue and white starlets – carpet sparkles of squill**,
and violets, primroses lingering still.
* ox-eye daisies **spring squill

Hi Rhiannon
Yes, a very lovely little word picture of the landscape.

Hi Rhiannon
Lovely little word picture. Gets it just right. I often walk the coastal path at my end. Anywhere between Porthkerry and Southerndown/Ogmore. Cheers

Hi Rhiannon,
Hi Rhiannon,
I don't know how I missed this beauty of a poem, it reminded me of so many coastal walks taken in the past and was a wonderful invigorating read. Don't need to go out after reading, I'm already revitalized.
Thank you for sharing.
Jenny.
