Elephant

I am wrinkly
not because I'm growing old
My wrinkles catch mud and debris
which reflect the sun's rays
and hold ten times more water
than smooth skins like yours
Can't sweat, need all my water to survive
My big flapping ears
help me keep cool,
tiny hairs covering my body
give out heat
I drink a hundred litres a day,
in emergency a pharyngeal pouch
at the back of my throat
quenches my thirst
I can sense storms
over a hundred miles away
by sensing seismic sounds
from my hooves on the ground
Have the biggest animal brain,
recall water sources
from tens of years ago
You might have seen or read about my trunk's
amazing versatility and strength
I eat and drop a lorry load too
So when you see me on tv, safari or at the zoo,
think corr it's incredible what I can do
