They’re roasting chestnuts in the plaza
Lorries clatter by
Leaves are silent in the trees
Travellers in the sky

A glass stands chilling in the night
Copa de Rioja
Driver waits for passengers
To Marques de Zafira

Horns are barking in the street
Someone dared to stop
Cases clatter over cracks
Outside the Chinese shop

Toffee apples on a stand
Walk-throughs on a set
A blindman walks behind his stick
Couples kiss and pet

A waiter in an apron
Smoking by the bins
Beggars kneeling by the church
Vend comfort for our sins

Another Sunday evening
Just so many words
If you’re looking for some answers
Go and ask the birds

a snatch of flying bats...

all a skitter with excitment as they look below...

I like theway you use the unexpected in the poem, very nice!
