Imagine!
Pressing down
on your past,
squeezing every
last conquered quest,
network of life
becomes like
cells of the brain,
packed tightly
into neat piles,
maybe
pyramid shaped,
stacked aptly
one adventure
on top of another,
till across time
invisible to the eye,
pillars of life's fortune
are one day ready
for excavation.

An interesting idea/picture
An interesting idea/picture you have depicted, Jenny.
I think most have such a mixture of 'adventure/accomplishment' memories, with emotional and treasured memories, but also memories of regrets and sadnesses – so that although pleased to amass the favourites, always a desire for an even much better (perfect and fully fulfilled) future to come – which we can ask for of God's grace. Brilliant!
Brilliant!
I especially like the choice of title. Too much envisioning this side of the pond these days.
It's great reading your comment about going with the flow and the unconscious. A key theme of the Surrealist movement: automatic painting, sculpting etc. Personally, I think there's a lot in it. We can communicate something to ourselves and to others. Perhaps not even putting our own finger on what it is, but knowing somehow that it's pleasing. Ergo the part the unconscious plays in creativity and in our lives. The primal bit, maybe.
Enjoyed reading it, thanks Jenny.
