A Crust

A Crust
is enticing. A tidbit
on a driveway of asphalt
white morsel
against the blacktop--
an offering to swoop away
captures one crow’s attention.
Rustles its feathers
not one to miss the lure
of a tasty treat.
This vagabond bird begins
chanting his raucous call
and messages resonate
from tree to
yonder
seeking his mate.
This morning’s snack
a prize for the hunt
and together a couple
descends to feeding bliss.

I do like this, so much in
I do like this, so much in few words.

Some great descriptions here
Some great descriptions here Richard, you could be describing the two crows that come to feed in our garden every morning, especially in the last stanza.
Enjoyed reading.
Jenny.
