… find music to wing
right words to express
soul joy or distress –
releasing to sing
of heartache and grief,
of truth and relief,
felt anguish of need
rapture when freed,
informing, revealing
the pressure relieving,
outpouring, and soaring,
with melody matching
the mood, fitly catching.

ecstatic is the word I think I want, but there's nothing static here, one of my favourite of your poems now

Thank you! I hadn't thought about the similarity of ecstatic and static!

There is also an intensity in songs of anguish, lament or prayer/pleading I guess. Rhiannon

Interesting comment. Singing can certainly both relieve tension and help one admit/face up to needs, concerns, worries, regrets aswell as feelings of delight and love. Rhiannon
