Chough-chuffed

Eight choughs standing on the fence in a row –
red in beak and red in toe,
zoom the camera those three to better see –
they’ve turned this way – to pose, or look at me?
a walker stops to speak – away three fly,
soon all wave their wings and take to the sky.
Chuffed to see, and chuffed to glean
such photographs of eight choughs seen.

What an amazing experience Rhiannon and to capture it on camara how lucky to be in the right place at the right time.
I love the way you put this poem together, it really sums up the scene so well.

I like your photo :0) they look like they are in a theatre waiting for a performance! Do you think they didn't want to get wet feet on the grass?
