I saw another rising sun,
the best I've yet to see;
upon the flaming pyre of dawn
the nights dark body lay.
the best I've yet to see;
upon the flaming pyre of dawn
the nights dark body lay.
And every flame that blazing, shone
seemed made of gold to me
for as they burned, from them was born
the bright new child of day.
seemed made of gold to me
for as they burned, from them was born
the bright new child of day.
I saw dawn's beams dig up the earth
from deep within the night
and wealth of warmth, they poured on me;
the heir of day begun.
from deep within the night
and wealth of warmth, they poured on me;
the heir of day begun.
Then blessed the light and blessed my birth;
my breath; my life; my sight
for old, I knew the luxury
of another rising sun.
my breath; my life; my sight
for old, I knew the luxury
of another rising sun.
