Christmas is coming!
Grins and secrets everywhere
(–they’re older, will they stumble
on our hidey-hole this year?)

Sometimes secrets burden – will I
inadvertently reveal
when I’m tired, teased or questioned –
eyes betray what lips conceal?

Secured vault with files encrypted
– protection by a pass-phrase long –
foolish hackers delve to steal it
– are precautions iron-strong?

Sometimes secrets need exposing,
others best forgotten, lost –
who has knowledge, wisdom, mercy
to make judgements on the past?

Even November 5th seems rather early - and all the extra commercial glitz makes the season sparkle less somehow! Rhiannon

Trying to discover secret is part of the magic for children :0)

Last verse very wise - whether better for future peace to let something bad be forgotten or whether it should be remembered so not repeated.
