One weak nestling, always last
– the rest all feather-up fast;
then four left the nest …
five out, then six,
seven, eight
fledgling
chicks.

I love the title. I didn't know any birds had nine chicks. That must be very stressful. The two seagull babies on our chimney make me worried just listening to them
