Foot or Dagger?

Better someone foolishly imprudent,
foot in mouth,
even impudent
(though much trouble then consequent,
and apologies should be
frequent)
but still an improvement
on
the sly can’t-be-trusted,
the oily smooth, confident,
polite, pleasing flatterer
with velvet-sheathed dagger,
whose promises on paper
are crumpled when convenient,
whose word is as dust
blown away and forgotten –
pleasantness concealing
heart rotten.

Very deep and profound poetry
Very deep and profound poetry.
An apology at times can be a move in the corect direction. We all make mistakes mate is part of our journey.
Keep writing, always or reading is just as viable.

As someone who invariable and unwittingly (lack of wit on my part that is) pokes others with the wrong end of the stick, I liked this poem :0) We just watched the Immitation Game about Alan Turing and it was like listening to glass scraping, the silences when he had said something and not realised why everyone was angry. Yet he was a great man, doing his best for others and it is terrible how he was not respected
