Nice picture of blooms which are fading fast as we descend into winter. Your poem held us in a bit of summer!

Thanks, yes, Hilary. We haven't much in our garden especially at the moment, but these, after a late start have done wonderfully, and yes, just beginning to fade I suppose, but they have survived a few cold nights. I was pleased to find success in seeing if I could put the second picture in! Rhiannon

I'm not surprised you wrote about these, they are so luxuriant!

each
pink petal, hued around
the golden centre.

they look like they don't have a care in the world, happy in their perfect pinkness.

All that's in my garden is one shivering shivering hydrangea flower and some cowering lamium :0)

Thank you, Di. That's why I went for 'each singing blossom'!

We are a few degrees south I suppose, but these wont be long in bloom, but they have lasted a long time, and still giving a lovely show. Rhiannon

I must admit they aren't my favourite flowers, but I love the delicate spidery foliage, and I enjoyed this poem too!

Thanks. They've certainly given us a lovely show this year – once they got flowering, were just tall pleasant leafage for a long time. But so striking now, that I was drawn to the delicacy of each bloom. Rhiannon

[They probably show up well as we haven't a tremendous amount of other garden flowers on display!]

They do sort of sing don't they and dance too or wave their feathery leaves. It's been a funny season some plants flowering early and some delayed and looking their best now like your Cosmos. Lovely photograph, they almost look good enough to eat.

Thanks. smiley Yes, they have been a lovely sight from where we sit to eat, very bright, very cheering. Well worth the wait we had for flowering to come!
