Don’t leave our ruined village. Aki.

England is not your place. 

Men with hate will call you Paki,

then spit right in your face.



Remember when we caught a snake, 

and took it to your mother’s house?

We set it loose upon the lake,

after feeding it your sister’s mouse.



Don’t leave us all alone, son.

Get out of that leaky boat.

The captain has a loaded gun.

A knife to slit your throat.

I feel such shame for the way the world operates. I dispair for the vulnerable, the willing and cheated. Humanity as a whole. How do we get over this? Kindness I hope.
