Chasing Memories

I'm smiling like one of those
Carousel horses enjoying the
Endless ride, while looking
Back on moments in my life.
Don't mind chasing memories...
In fact cravings for those who rode
With me are deep-rooted. Music plays
Endlessly each tune conjuring a time;
Illuminating friendships as sound of
Fairground attractions bring hubbub
Of noise exciting – stimulating...even
If a bit blurred with age,
Adventures sometimes risky meeting
Adversary along the way, bought
Wisdom which now guides me as on
The ride of life I grow older each day.

A good one, Jenny, and an apt
A good one, Jenny, and an apt analogy. We all chase our memories.

Seems to come full circle (!)
Seems to come full circle (!) to the looking forward and the learning from difficult experiences too by the end of your poem. You somehow highlight the cicling of life's years, with much similarity, but differences as the journey winds forwards, and hopefully the looking back helps the perseverence forward too. Yes, the carousel image seems helpful. Rhiannon

love this verse
Also, interesting how blurred and hubbub both have 'b' sound, as though sight and sound is blunt, everything round, nothing sharp to stand out
A merrygoround seems more hopeful than existence being a straight line? If it's a circle you get another go if you make a mistake. Or you get to do something wonderful again another time?
