“Stonking Views”, it said

Walking around little Castle Hill
near Knucklas viaduct:
a sign to the castle
(divert up for “stonking views”
the walk-notes say),
steep short path
onto small earthworks:
pregnant ewes crowd in
probably hope we are
bringers of supplement-food;
circular view: valleys,
mid-Wales and Shropshire hills
and humps,
and, around our feet,
miniature model in dykes and bumps?
(– disguising buried castle walls and defences).
As they said, large, exciting, impressive sight!

I wouldn't know
I wouldn't know. It's all relative. Most of the time yes, warm summers cool winters but everything moderate. It's summer but we have rain at the moment here it followed a heat wave. At the moment it is cool, temperatures are still low. It's raining hard now.
With Pretoria nearby summer evenings are lovely. In summer there are thunderstorms and there is sometimes damage from hailstorms but seldom, and no rain in winter but there can be ice rain (sleet?) but it's rare. The occasional flood really nothing big deal and also times of dry seasons, of near drought..
The same as everywhere else but never extremes. Not even wind to speak of. No earth quakes no hurricanes no tsunamis.
O yes! We do have beautiful, wonderful scenery and many cultural riches too. You must just drive bit further than in Britain. This country is really beautiful and you'll see and experience things that you don't have anywhere else. Of course that includes our neighbouring southern African countries. And in fact it is mostly quite safe for tourists and they find us Very good value for money!
I hope I didn't speak too much! Sounds like an advertisement.
See you! Tom Brown
