Circle from Craswall 11/1/19

Soggy day and squelchy ground,
but rain has gone,
far views have cleared,
air is fresh,
we circle round
through ups and downs
east of the Bluff*
which towers above
with wisps of cloud
drifting, lifting
past its face,
leafless larch, windswept, dead cones,
gorse (some flowers!), browned bracken:
refreshing roam,
but we would like, one warm
and sunny day, to come
again this scene to see well lit.
* Hay Bluff, end of one of the Black Mountain ridges, by Hay-on-Wye

It must be so breathtaking to catch the views from your exploration. Your photos matched up with the poem and took me away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Thank you for sharing Rhiannon.

Richly deserved, it's
Richly deserved, it's BEAUTIFUL, could feel the sweet air and see the colours. Is so interesting how you combine time into it, not just the rhythm of poetry but of your day. They seem sort of like Richard Long sculptures only not so hard. Not about leaving changes in the landscape as you walk through it, more about being part of the changing (if that makes sense!). A lasting piece of art made from a walk which will never be exactly the same ever again because the landscape/weather/your life will always be different

yes. I wonder if walking
yes. I wonder if walking through the same small area every day or so, all year, lots of years, you feel the changes better because not distracted by everything being new? Like saying you love someone if you only meet them once, and loving someone you are with all your lives
have to say, your walking poems are making me want to visit the Welsh borders like anything :0)

You take us on your journey
You take us on your journey Rhiannon with your descriptions of texture, weather and flora. I can feel the fresh air of my face and see the leafless larch. I particularly like the last line and the way you've arranged those final words.
