Above Clun

A sharp shower as we climb
out of the village,
then steeply up the fields
into the wind and sun,
high above Clun,
with the green waves
of Shropshire hills surrounding,
and wide blue sky above
scattered with bright white clouds-puffs.
We walk on, cameras clicking
in all directions
(the benefit of digital
– no need to ration
or regret using up
the afforded few
before the better views appear!)
up and down among the hills
to circle back with
a short time in
the forest –
so dark, so silent and still
except high overhead
the wind in the treetops
whooshing and shaking
the branches, like a passing jet.
[IP: wind – the wind that day wasn't as fierce as at present, but a good sharp, freshening bluster!]

What can I say Rhiannon? But
What can I say Rhiannon? But amazingly descriptive of a perfect walk in such beautiful surroundings.
Just loved the photos too, you've captured everything I love in nature.
Thank you for sharing.
Jenny.

I'm sorry to hear you've had
I'm sorry to hear you've had health issues Rhiannon, but I'm glad it's all settling down. I'm not doing too bad, but just need to take it slowly when walking around.
Take care,
Jenny.

Some lovely description in
Some lovely description in this Rhiannon, and I'm glad you're able to take these walks and share them with us, so please thank your health from me!
ps: I looked at 'snapping' for ages before I realised what you were talking about - not sure why!

yes, it did become clear once
yes, it did become clear once I'd read on (not before I'd wondered whether it was a typo and you'd meant snacks perhaps), but it was a shame it interrupted the flow of reading. I wonder if you could change it for something else? Clicking maybe? That's still a bit ambiguous though - funny isn't it - neither should be!

if there's no good reason why
if there's no good reason why not, then 'cameras clicking' sounds better to me, but 'active' is definitely clearer than before

Lovely! I liked the contrast
Lovely! I liked the contrast you had from the bright open first part to the shady closed in second. Also, the bit about cameras and not having to worry about cost of film, running out and getting developed. Another kind of freedom? I like your photos and wish they were bigger :0)
I'm so sorry to hear you have not been well. Hope things continue to get better.
