Travelling eastward in a car,
brown tracery against the blue;
and green flushed fields with promise new
of harvest on a coming summer day;
then after lunch we wander on the hill
the sky now grey,
bare higher ridge ahead,
a sense of depth and space –
the valley stretched between,
way down, below.

Firstly Rhiannon, can I say how much I love the name Pippin's Hill and the photo.
Your poem brings back the realization of just what a wonderful world we live in. Each line was a pleasure to read and thank you for sharing.
Jenny.

You have time as well as space in here, both your time there and future when the crops have grown. And the way the last line opens up is wonderful
