I Searched Everywhere
Not one whisper from the wind
Ever named her
No gentle pastels of the mind
Painted a picture of her ever being
No mournful dirge lamented
Or sang wistfully of her passing
Darkness all consuming
Every memory of her
I couldn’t forget
But I couldn’t remember
I put her memories somewhere
But they wouldn’t return
At least not the way I wanted
Ignoring every desperate command
The summoned senses sent back
A barren blank that ached for love
Mementoed objects empty of meaning
Nothing brought her back…
A whiff of perfume
A sniff of fragrances forgotten
And once more she was with me
Oh! How I wish she was here.

Fragrances always remind me
Fragrances always remind me of loved ones now gone. A tender loving poem that touched my emotions.
