Naked trees in winter seem to stupor,

pulse of roots growing ever deeper...

absorbing goodness from the earth

new life suckles under snow and ice,

 

then...spring breezes in, floating as if

between shape shifting feathery clouds,

beaming smiles awaken, now clutching

branches of nature's wisdom unfolds,

 

those dancing leaves dress for summer,

gathering overhead, a welcome family

waving resplendent canopy of energy

able to study their green neighbourhood,

 

moving on, flames of heat begin to cool,

not of fire but yoke of sun, those threads

of rays becoming weaker their work done,

weather begins to taunt and tease with ease,

 

with fingers in fruit pies as apples gathered

multiply, custard sun now disappears, spills

its rain, snow and chills, giving rise to a new

sunrise when harvest is once more assured,

 

only echoes remain now autumn's here again,

musty blanket of coloured leaves have fallen on

forest's mossy ground, nature's envelope opening

to acknowledge seasons moving on and around.

You are enjoying the leaves emerging and waving all around too, Jenny! It is nice to consider again the season's round, and the falling leaves insulating and feeding the earth in the autumn. Rhiannon

This sounds like you have been out walking in the woods? I hope so!

I particularly like

"gathering overhead, a welcome family

waving resplendent canopy of energy"

which is how the trees felt in the woods here this afternoon

Hello Di, arn't we so lucky to have the changing seasons. You are spot on with understanding what I was trying to say about the family of leaves up in the trees. It always amazes me how the eco system works in forests and how trees help each other communicating through their root system.

I'm walking a lot better now, but haven't yet had a chance to venture into the forest, but I'm sure I will before long.

so glad you are walking better!!! Is this the physio or is it just getting better on its own?

Good morning Di,

It seems to be improving on its own. I did go to physio but he never did anything, apart from asking me questions, though he did look at my x-ray, then told me that I could need a hip replacement at some time in the future, but that it might not be for years. 

That did worry me somewhat, as I have an alergy to the blood thinning tablets and had to get my partner to inject it into my stomach. I absolutely hate needles and couldn't face the idea of doing it to myself. 

I'm just glad to be walking again and keeping active, even if it is only doing the housework.smiley I need to be indepenent, can't stand relying on others...I wonder if you're the same! wink

Anyway thank you for enquiring about my hip.

That is GREAT news! Maybe you were leaning on it too much to protect your new hip? And giving it a rest lets it all rebalance.

Luckily so far (apart from once when my son was younger) I have managed ok. My partner is not very well and we live too far from family for them to be able to help. But now our son is older I'm not so worried :0)

Hello Di,

sorry to hear about your situation and that your partner is not well. I too have an older son who is in his 30s, but have no living relatives local to turn to if anything goes wrong. 

Anyway, I hope that life treats you well, you deserve it.
