“you tried.
sometimes that’s more than enough.”
–said the sinking sun to the moon
who tried to quell the rolling tide.
“but you’ll drown” –said the moon
and all the light will be gone again.”
“not all.” –said the sun
“how else will we shine,
if not without the other?
and if anything,
there’s always tomorrow, you know.”
“when the sun sets again?”
“when I set again.”
“I see.”

A parable of co-operation?! and the need for one another.
It brought back a scene a couple of years ago when the sun really appeared to be sinking into the sea as the sky colour merged with the sea. I used it for a 'poetry monthly'.
