Confronting Demons

When tempests batter
Down your door,
Thieves of pain skulk
In secret corners,
Their chains rattling
Deepest anxieties,
Dig deep down
To those roots,
For somewhere
Inside this maze
Of depression,
A flame burns bright,
New beginnings
Can blossom
Like flowers in spring,
Or footprints upon
Winter's even snow,
Meetings with new friends,
To prove that you're loved,
All that's needed is
The will to reach out,
Empty mind of negativity,
Perhaps being out there
For someone who needs
Help just like you.

A very well deserved cherry
A very well deserved cherry for this one Jenny. It reminds me of another, much bleaker piece I read last week which I think we both commented on - I hope some of your poem's positivity wafts over the internet to where they are
in the first line I think it should be batter, not batters

Reaching out for friendship,
Reaching out for friendship, or reaching out to give a bit of friendship - good to bring both ideas in. The latter can be easier, and results in the former too. Rhiannon

Makes me think that problems
Makes me think that problems are hard like flint. But sharp and heavy flints even, if meeting might make a spark, a light in the darkness?
I hope so much that you are not still in pain? However you are feeling you try to make life better for others

The will to reach out. . . It
The will to reach out. . . It's starting to come back to me, Jenny. Loved this piece to bits. The corny reply would be: It spolke to me. But nithing corny about your poem. think I'll read it a couple of times more. I need reminding more than I know.
