Hushed was the silence

those furry white limbs

when first snow came

and eyes were excited,

 

to look back glimpse

with doggy delight at

those impressions of

dubious paw prints,

 

in icy cold to jump and play,

sink in drifts enticing this

canine in a fun display of

energetic simple pleasure,

 

furthermore so amusing

like comical wagging tail

laughed at cheeky game,

that's how this photo came.

This is delightful and just what I need after being seared beneath a sun which seems to be on steroids today. What a beautiful dog, us dog owners really take pleasure in watching them have fun experiences.

Lovely to watch animlas and children enjoying fresh snow.

It is cooling to look at something like that. Mum-in-law likes Shirley Hughes' fun and clever children's poems, which I print out large for her, and today I thought ones about cold and wet were cooling for her! Rhiannon

Good morning insert,

glad you enjoyed my snow poem, thankfully it's a lot cooler and cloudier this morning. Yes the photo is of my once dog Trixie, she was such a joy to own and loved the snow.

I know what you mean about the sun and heat, I felt exactly the same which was how I came to write this poem. Hope I could cool you down if only a little.

Trixie was such a pleasure to own when I was growing up.

Good morning Rhiannon,

I think that's a lovely idea printing out childrens poems for your Mum-In-Law. I have to say this weather must be horrible for older people, especially if they have breathing problems, we're just not used to such conditions.

Man's best friend woman's too! Puppies and little dogs are always playful and so adorable! A simple, lovely poem. "Happiness is a warm puppy".

Thank you for your kind comment Tom. Yes! I agree a dog is very special and can bring so much love and warmth into your life. Trixie was such an energetic dog and would have us constantly smiling at her anticts...definitely a life long friend.
