Remembering Bee Symbol Of Our Great Poets

Wednesday 2nd October 2019.

 

 

Working in the garden

I gazed on one solitary

late summer bee today,

reminding me of soul's

determination to hold

on as long as possible,

It put me in mind of

the vivacity that was

celebrated in Bee's

poetic creations,

 

even as this woman

faced her swan song,

in eternal sleep

Bee's spirit travels

great distances,

now she's light...

pure like

a snow flake,

yet warm

as mother's milk,

 

that joy she gave

and shared in life

crosses passages

of time...for still

I hear and read

her cherished,

kind recognition

of my writings,

as I with pleasure

absorb hers too.

 

Numerous shining poets

have come and gone,

like Bee in words here

on abc tales their

memories are

commemorated,

across passages

of time

they continue

to shine.

Jenny what a wonderful tribute!  Bee must have been a lovely person to have inspired it. It is so good to remember people, I am inexpressably grateful to have ABC as a resource to read Well-Wisher's writing for example whenever feeling low. And your kindness always cheers me up, as do your poems and stories, like this one, beautiful

Hello Di,

Bee was truely a gifted writer as was Well Wisher too. I was amazed at her happy nature even when she was in pain and up to the end. Like many writers on here including yourself, she inspired me.

I often wonder what happened to Silver Spun Sand and Mistaken Magic, they too were a great inspiration. It's so sad when we loose such writers, but I often go back and re read their work from the past.

I'm very thankful to you for reading and your comment put a big smile on my face. smiley

How nice to wake up and find this reminder of a very special person - thank you Jenny. she was a very talented writer (though if you ever said that to her she'd just blush and deny it), and such a kind, generous woman. I often come across her wonderful comments when going through re-edits of old things. She was an inspiration to many of us.

I also wonder what happened to silver spun sand, but I know mistaken magic is a teacher now (we are facebook friends). I'm not sure if she still has time to write.

Good morning insert,

I do so appreciate you letting me know about mistaken magic, and to know she's a teacher really is great to know, I bet she teaches english, can imagine it would be her subject because I did learn a lot from her writing.

You know it's so unusal to see a bee around at this time of year, but when I was tidying up the garden, it just appeared and this poem came to mind. I'm glad you liked and thank you so much for letting me know.

Hi Jenny

Thank you for the lovely poem and for helping us all remember Bee. I knew her from another writing site, and she encouraged me to join this one and I was very pleased that I did. When she was so ill, she rang me one day - a complete surprise to me - and she had a lovely voice - caring and friendly.
