Reflected Glory

This is my happiest moment.
Truly happy, not just merry,
at last I’ve got one comment
and also awarded a ‘cherry’.
I write prose and poems 24/7,
some of it good, some not so
and that is my kind of heaven
though I don’t get any ‘dough’.
Every time I concoct a story
or compose a poem in verse
I shall bask in reflected glory
but it will not fill up the purse.
I have a tendency to fantasise
that when my efforts are read
people will think that I’m wise
but don’t let it go to my head.
Sometimes my verses stumble,
I’m confused, I am all at sea,
but I’m lucky, mustn’t grumble,
others are worse off than me.

Now you have two comments and I hope it gets a cherry so that you can bask in the glory of it. Made me smile, thanks Luigi. :)

Luigi I have lost count of the things I have learned from reading your poems. I am glad you got a cherry, you ARE wise, and witty also! No reflection necessary
