Light and Shade

I went to see an optometrist.
I cannot say he's an optician
nor can I call him an oculist;
it would cause much affliction.
It was because my eyesight
was victim to light sensitivity;
that if the sun was too bright
it would affect my reactivity.
He said he had lenses made
that if the glare was excessive
changed from light to shade
and the result was impressive.
He added that varifocal lenses
not only would improve vision
but also awaken the senses,
so, could I make a decision?
He noticed that I was pensive
and thinking about the excess.
I said they were too expensive,
could I've them on the NHS?
To that he could not agree
- we did not see eye to eye -
- we did not see eye to eye -
but as the eye test was free
I felt duty bound to buy.

Ha! You and me both, Luigi.
Ha! You and me both, Luigi. I console myself with the fact that I go to Boots opticians so I end up with a container-lorry load of extra points whenever I get new specs.

I don't know where I'd be without my varifocals Luigi, they're worth every penny because I find the sun just too much these days.Great idea for the I P too.
Jenny. xx
