Cancer Moon

From the very morning she came to me,
Smiling, through those intricate raven curls;
The birth of a new soul, precious and free,
Hearts suddenly entwined, two bright eyed girls.
Although only a few mere months apart
Coming naturally to be her protector,
For from her I vow to never depart
Everyone to cross paths will respect her.
You capture my heart with your unique ways,
Overwhelming yet incomparable,
Enough laughter to last for inf’nite days
You make impossible moments bear’ble.
And as the light dims, whether it be yours or mine,
I have no doubt I will lose you, souls entwined,
For the love that we share is far stronger than a lifetime.
