Hares

Hares cast spells
in hollowed hedgerows
and drink light
shone for dawn,
they sip moon egg secrets and
crave no confession.
Hares borrow
a lunar eye and
mould old gods
from new clay,
but joined for Spring's urgency,
crave no redemption.

There's such a mystery about
There's such a mystery about that first stanza, I love the idea of the hares casting spells in hollowed hedgerows and drinking in the light before dawn.
A magical poem indeed.

I love the idea of them
I love the idea of them drinking dawn light, too! They make me jump out of my skin in the woods, as they wait till I almost trip over them before running off :0)
