An article published in the Basilay Daily the next day:
SUICIDE UNDER MYSTERIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES
On Wednesday 29th May, a man by the name of Jacques Cape committed suicide. It was reported that Cape jumped from his window. His neighbours reported him going to the Vetiti forest with a large bag and a back pack. Both the bags were found and they were empty.
Some students from Basilay High who camped in the Vetiti forest reported Cape looking at them and running away very much scared. Cape was a suspect in the murder of his neighbours Jacques Durand and Cher Hoffmann, committed six years ago. The case was closed with no one being convicted. He had seemingly lost his mind with guilt when his parents, brother and sister died in a fire at the theatre. The police suspected that Cape was delusional and his neighbours reported him acting strangely on many occasions. A resident who lived near Cape’s house reported Cape once grabbing his hand, calling him ‘father’ and apologizing. The reason for Cape committing suicide is yet to discovered and the police has denied to answer any further questions.
